Education, training and lifelong learning

Education and collaborative learning is a key factor in the sustainable development agenda and Biosffer Dyfi Biosphere has the potential to be an exemplary model for delivering these priorities.

The Dyfi Biosphere offers a number of opportunities for the Education and Training sector, particular in the themes of environment, culture and sustainable development.

A workshop for education & training providers was held on 2nd October 2008 at Plas Dolguog, Machynlleth.

The Report ("Sharing the message of the Dyfi Biosphere") identifies widespread support for creating an educators' network. A starting point for describing the network is: “a vehicle for formal and informal training and education providers in the area to work together to consider new, creative, exemplary ways that the Dyfi Biosphere status can add value to training and education here”. We need to work on defining real aims and benefits of education & training provision.

A second meeting will be held on 9th December 2008. Contact Helen Howells if you would like to attend. H.Howells@ccw.gov.uk
